What is Assisted Stretching or Stretch Therapy?
No matter your age or activity level, stretching is important for everyone. Whether you’re exercising, walking to your car or just reaching for something in your kitchen, you want your body to work the way it should. Our goal at Peak Motion & Wellness is to help you move freely and without pain or muscle soreness, and stretch therapy offers a safe yet very efficient way to reach those goals.
Stretch therapy is similar to massage in that it is delivered one-on-one by a therapist on a table. And in contrast to traditional stretching, with assisted stretching, the work is done for you.

Some Proven Benefits of Assisted Stretch Therapy
Before the treatment begins, you will complete a health intake form and then work one-on-one with an experienced stretch therapist who has knowledge of anatomy, physiology and stretching techniques. Your stretch therapist will take you through a thorough stretch routine that is personalized for your particular needs and goals. In the process, your stretch therapist will help you identify your unique pattern of restriction, and a series of unique stretches that are tailored to improve your freedom of movement and neurological control while reducing muscle tension, pain and stress.
During some stretches, you will be encouraged to completely relax your limbs to get the greatest benefit. For other stretches, you may be asked to engage certain muscles. Your goal during the session is to relax, breathe and let the stretch therapist take the weight of your limbs and move you through the stretches. You will feel a stretch sensation, but never pain. Most people leave a stretch therapy session feeling like they’ve just had a deep tissue massage.
